FAQ – for Referrers (Existing TELUS customers)
How do I make a referral?
To make a referral, sign in to your TELUS My Account.
How many friends can I refer?
There is no limit to the number of referrals you can send to your friends. However, you are limited to the following referral reward value maximums per calendar year:
1. Home Solutions - $200
2. Mobility - $300
Who can I refer?
You can refer friends or family who are currently not TELUS customers. TELUS team members, contractors and sales representatives acting on TELUS' behalf are excluded from this Program.
Can I refer someone for Mobility who wants to bring their own device to TELUS?
Yes. The person you refer can either buy a phone from TELUS or bring their own device, either way; you will both get a $50 bill credit for a successful referral.
If my friend is already a TELUS customer, but I told him/her to renew their contract, can I still get a referral credit?
In order to qualify for a referral credit, your friend must be a new TELUS customer who activated after they were sent the referral.
When will you call my friend?
We will call the person you referred within 3 days after your referral is submitted. If we are unable to reach them we will try back at another time. If the contact number you provided is registered on the Do Not Call List we will not be able to contact your friend.
Will you give out my friend's contact information?
When will I receive my reward?
1. Rewards for Home Services will be a $50 Virtual MasterCard per service activated. You will receive your gift card within 8 weeks from the date your friend had their services installed. The Virtual MasterCard® Reward is issued by Citibank, Canada pursuant to a license from MasterCard International and managed by Citi® Prepaid Services. The Virtual MasterCard Reward can be used everywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted online, by phone or mail within Canada.
2. Reward for Mobility service will be a $50 bill credit applied to your TELUS account. Bill credits are applied within 3-4 weeks of process completion.
How can I check the status of my referral?
Because we cannot discuss details associated with a client's account with anyone except the client we will not be able to confirm for you if your friend subscribes to TELUS services. Please call your friend to see if they have subscribed to TELUS home services as the result of your referral. If your friend has subscribed to a TELUS service as the result of your referral and it has been more than 8 weeks since their installation and you have not received your gift card please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, TELUS Home Phone number or account number and the full name and phone number of the friend you referred. We will look into the status of the referral and let you know if you should be expecting a gift card. Due to client privacy the information that TELUS can provide is very limited.
Can I refer friends to products that I don't subscribe to?
Yes, as long as you are a TELUS customer (TELUS Mobility, Home Phone, Internet or TV) you are able to refer customers to TELUS TV and receive a reward.
If my friend is already a TELUS customer can I still refer them to new services?
Yes, as long as they do not currently have the service you are referring them to and have not had that service in the past 90 days.
What if someone else also refers my friend?
The first referral received will be credited with the customer's referral. Referrals are considered expired 30 days after the submission.
Will I be informed if my friend does not sign up?
No. TELUS takes our customers' privacy rights very seriously. We cannot confirm which services a customer subscribes to.
What if my friend orders TELUS services before they are called for the referral?
1. Home Services
Only home service subscriptions purchased when the TELUS representative calls your friend as a result of your referral will be compensated with a referral gift. If your friend purchases TELUS home services through any other sales channel, the referral will not be compensated.
Only mobility services purchased when or after the TELUS representative calls your friend will be compensated with a referral gift. Your friend may go to the store to activate their service after that communication, but the referral will not be recognized unless they follow the instructions given to them by the TELUS representative to finalize the referral.
What if my friend has had TELUS services in the past?
You can refer a friend to services they have not subscribed to in the past 90 days.
Can I refer someone who lives in the same household?
No you cannot refer yourself or anyone else in your household.
How long is a referral active?
The referral is active for 30 days. If your friend has not signed up for service within 30 days of the referral being submitted it is considered closed.
FAQ – for Referees (Non-TELUS customers)
How to I claim my referral?
Follow the instructions from the TELUS representative that contacted you and the emails you receive from the TELUS referral program.
How long are referrals valid for?
Once you receive your referral, you will have 30 days to claim your offer
If I was referred by more than one person, can I get more than one credit?
No. You can only claim one referral offer.
FAQ – for both Referrers and Referees
How can I see if I have received my referral bill credit?
We will send you an email after your referral has been approved and you have earned a reward as a result of the referral. Your referral credits will show up on your bill within 3 to 4 weeks of receiving this email.
Can prepaid mobility customers participate in the referral program?
No. You must be a TELUS postpaid customer to participate and your friend must activate a TELUS postpaid account.
Are corporate or business accounts eligible for the referral credit?
No. You and your friend must be on a consumer account to participate.
